Residential proxies for price monitoring
Prices, currencies, shipping costs and promotions often vary by country and even by region. Price monitoring through residential IPs in the right location shows you what a local shopper actually sees, not what a datacenter IP is served.
See regional prices
Set the country in the username to fetch the local storefront, and add a state or city where retailers price by region or delivery zone. Targeting is part of the username, so one script can loop over markets by changing a single segment.
import requests
markets = ["us", "gb", "de"]
for cc in markets:
user = f"<USERNAME>-type-residential-country-{cc}"
proxy = f"http://{user}:<PASSWORD>@gw.nodelighthouse.com:9000"
r = requests.get("https://shop.example.com/item/123",
proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=30)
print(cc, r.status_code)Schedule checks, don't hammer
Most price changes happen a few times a day at most. A scheduled job that checks each product on a sensible interval costs less bandwidth and puts less load on the retailer than continuous polling.
Use the rotating port 9000 for single product pages. Switch to a sticky session on port 10000 if the site needs a cart or location cookie set before it shows the final price.
Predictable cost
Bandwidth is billed at a flat $1.65/GB on every plan, so the cost of adding products or markets is easy to forecast. Start with the $2 test pack (500 MB) to measure the size of a typical product page. See pricing.
